Coach Brian Boland is an American former tennis coach. He was the director of tennis and head men's tennis coach at Baylor University from 2018 to 2020. He was the head coach of the University of Virginia men's tennis team from 2001 until 2017, after holding the same position for five years at his alma mater, Indiana State University. After leaving the Cavaliers tennis program, Boland was the Head of Men's Tennis for USTA Player Development.

"Biggest thing was I could actually get on the court and compete hard on game day. Wasn’t really what able to do that before you showed up."
Very open and positive. Freed me up to play my strengths not play the opponent. In other words you let me do what I do well so I could be effective. If we controlled my game then the opponents was irrelevant. I was always told to adjust my game to the opponent which never really made sense since I had a set game. Really helped me take care of my body and not over exercise. Biggest thing was I could actually get on the court and compete hard on game day. Wasn’t really what able to do that before you showed up. Freed me up mentally to not cover up injuries out of fear of missing lineup. Didn't realize I probably was one of the top players in the country. If anything, you helped me believe and had my back and I went undefeated in Big 12 play which was impactful to me as I exited the sport.
